The embossed characters known from the good old credit card, can also be punched into metal plates. It only needs a bit more robust equipment.
Embossed metal plates provide a durable inscription that withstands high temperatures or acids. Even surface treatments with paint or zinc coating cannot do any harm. Typical applications for embossed metal plates are: type plates for equipment, address labels for items to be galvanized, or permanent labelling of steel products.
To-day the embossing can also be machine-read.
